How I went from slave to Goddess

Hi and welcome to my website. I’m Linnaya, the owner and operator of Massiki Massage. My journey here has been long and arduous, but I have learned so much along the way.

 

CULT BEGINNINGS (yes you read that right)

I began life as somewhat of a prisoner in a cult that my parents belonged to. Once they decided that no religions had it correct, they left the cult to create their own version of what they considered to be correct religion. We read the Hebrew bible, did nothing but worship on Saturdays and dressed up and acted out parables. I was taught that the world was a terrible place full of terrible people who all wanted to hurt me.

ESCAPE!

I escaped when I was almost 17 leaving with just one suitcase of clothes and one blanket in a shopping trolley. I walked down the road asking people for a place to stay until I found someone who said yes. It was a group of men who said and did things they shouldn’t have, but I didn’t know any better.

 

As the years flew by I tried to live by the principles that my parents taught me – love thy neighbor, telling the truth always, be kind and considerate and not selfish; and if you CAN help you SHOULD and have a responsibility to help. This left me open to many abusers and the tales my parents told me were turning out to be true, it was like living in my own worst nightmare.

FIRST HEALING STEPS

16 years ago, I began my journey to healing. It all started with an Angel Healing course with Judith Farley. This was my introduction to intuition and things beyond the physical. I took to healing like a duck to water, making quick progress but still doubting myself and struggling to make sense of what I was seeing and feeling. This is also when I first started meditating.

 

Following that I learned all I could about esoteric healing practices and all kinds of medicines from crystals to herbs to oils and anything else I could get my hands on. Unfortunately, I had made some poor choices as far as partners were concerned which made the journey longer and harder.

LEARNING MORE

8 years ago, I met Bobbi Morton from Rainbow farm. She was a deeply spiritual person who taught me a lot about cleansing, manifesting and Reiki (or energy) healing. It was through her that I met my best friend Tina. She called me every day to ask me where I thought she should look for bargains and how to proceed with issues in her life. I would always tell her my ‘guesses’ and I was right almost all the time. Some people had warned me that she was using me but they didn’t understand that I was also getting something from the arrangement – confidence. Constant daily reminders that my intuition was POWERFUL was actually really good for me and is the basis of my confidence today.

 

After that I joined a shamanic drumming circle and started to learn how sound vibrations can radiate through your heart meridian and break up stagnant energy to be released. It is here that I found my voice as I finally allowed myself to ‘sing’ or vocalise to the drumming and let me tell you it was sooo scary but also the greatest freedom.

 

FINDING MY MOJO

Many people in my life had told me that I was a POWERFUL healer, but I didn’t start to believe it until this year when I started taking the remedial massage diploma course. I was so nervous as some of the people in my class had 20 years experience and I felt like I would not measure up. But to my surprise they were VERY impressed with my ability.

 

As my confidence grew, I realized that I had a very special perspective. As an Autistic and ADHD person with a unique world view I now feel it is my calling to provide personalized healing for mind, body and spirit. To educate people that we are more than just the bodies we inhabit. Every time our body cries out in pain it is a reflection of the suffering in our mind and soul. We can use this pain as a map to healing, and I will be your guide. 

 

MASSIKI IS BORN

For many people a massage shop is too overwhelming, and every experience is the same, usually rushed to make the quickest buck and fit in as many clients as possible. Here at Massiki massage I strive to do the opposite of that.
